Breaking Borders in 81 Seconds by award winning artist Lex Lumiere is an art cinema extension of the ” Breaking Borders ” photographic essay displayed at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France in July for the Exposure Award ceremony. Professional photographers from 191 countries around the world entered the juried exhibition. Lumiere’s exhibit is a tribute to Chinese political artist Ai Weiwei. The film represents 1 second for every day he was in solitary confinement, questioning our perceptions of freedom and technologies ability to empower human rights and freedom of speech.

The Houston Fine Art Fair —dubbed “The City’s Art Fair”—has offered a week of cultural events connecting international galleries by presenting a selection of important contemporary art from around the world and artists with the thriving Houston art scene. Specifically designed to meet the collecting trends of a multicultural city, over 1,000 significant works of art, by 300 respected artists were presented by 50 contemporary galleries plus seven cutting-edge installations, all available for acquisition. HFAF has a Latin American emphasis this year, which includes specialists in Pre-Columbian art, works on paper and American art from the 1930s to 1950s. There’s a bit of something for buyers at all price and taste levels. The event is hosted by the Hamptons Expo Group of New York City.

Come by and introduce yourself, this is Lex Lumiere’s first solo art exhibit back in her hometown of Houston, Texas in 10 years. She is one of 4 living artists present at the fair sharing the same roof as Chagall, Klimt and Picasso. She will be autographing HFAF books and providing educational tours of her artwork and her grandparents legacy as award winning artists. Prints from the showcase will also be displayed. All of which help to promote the charities Pencils of Promise providing children’s education programs in impoverished countries and Artbridge, providing art therapy to children living in homeless shelters.

The ” Breaking Borders ” art showcase is also available on a 16 x 20 Autographed Peel-n-Sick Poster for $50
